I too was wondering what it was and what type of tap I would need to use them. They are just like Hoff-Stevens coupler only with two pins and no threads. I didn't notice any brewery names on the kegs. I also live in Washington.

Re: Bottling & Kegging – How Many Gallons and Ounces of Beer?

My findings over the years have been, that 3/8 tsp. of dextrose that has no lumps etc. and is a level measure has worked well for priming 12 oz. bottles. "No bottle bombs and no flat beer either." Years ago I used to do this with what we then called sugar beers. Where you used a lot of corn sugar in the boil as opposed to malt for a light session style beer. Obviously I like the all malt and grain brews a lot better, but these light beers are a hit during the hot days of the summer and are quick and inexpensive to make. "Turned many a Bud Light drinker off on their once favorite suds with them." Ha... These were cellar conditioned and well chilled before serving. They actually get reasonably decent after a month. So if you get a few batches ahead of the game and keep it running, you won't run out of "friends" on the weekend. Hope this helps someone out there.

Re: Hops History Links Roundup

This is who we have to thank for more variety than just Early and Late Cluster like before the 1980's.

IMO-This branch of the USDA is what I like to this of as an arm of the government which is actually just an arm of the industrialized mega-hop growing hop market corporations which are actually just an arm of the mega-brewers. It's old and I'd like to identify them. This brass coupler has a dual probe like the HS but they are under an unthreaded aproximately 2" Dia. cap which has a handle/lever that swings and locks two notched side panels onto what I imagne must be some kind of pegs on the Keg reciever side and holds the cap down on the Keg. It's like the HS with a 'CO2 in' probe and a 'Beer out' probe but no threads; just a leaver handle and those notched side locks. Can you identify this for me? I live in Washington state and I think these were used on Rainier or Bud kegs long ago. Thanks.

Re: Fall 2009 Midwest Hops Production Workshop

Stuck at work today.
